Cancellation insurance for incentive and group trips: coverage details

Our cancellation insurance for incentive and group travel consists of the following coverages:

  • Cancellation or rescheduling of the trip, or parts of it
    If you are organising an incentive or group trip and something happens that requires the trip to be unexpectedly cancelled, postponed, rescheduled or interrupted, this section will ensure you are reimbursed for the costs.
    The insurer will reimburse expenses incurred if the trip has to be cancelled due to, for example:
    • financial difficulties at a party involved in the trip (such as a hotel going bankrupt);
    • unexpected strikes, for example in public transport or at the airport;
    • the death of a trip participant;
    • government intervention (such as closure of an airport or a change to travel advice).
  • Replacement transport and accommodation
    If it is necessary to arrange replacement transport or accommodation for the trip to go ahead, you will be reimbursed for the additional costs you incur for this. So for example, if you miss the train or plane and it is not your own fault, the insurer will pay for the new train or plane tickets. Or if there is a strike in public transport and you therefore have to hire a vehicle to travel to the airport, you will be reimbursed for those costs. Or if, for example, a fire breaks out in the hotel where you would be staying and you therefore have to book a new hotel. If it was known more than 7 days in advance that transport would be cancelled, you are not entitled to compensation.
  • Liability (secondary)
    If one of the trip participants causes damage to belongings or injury to persons, you may be held liable for it. This insurance protects you from that kind of claim.
    The liability coverage is secondary. This means the insurance provides cover only if a claim is not covered by the regular liability insurance of the company organising the group tour.
  • Cancellation due to non-appearance (optional)
    You can choose to add non-appearance cover to the insurance policy. With this section, you insure people who are so important that the group trip would not go ahead without them (such as the company director). If a group trip has to be cancelled because an insured person cannot attend due to, for example, serious illness or death, the expenses incurred will be refunded. Insured persons must be declared in advance, and they must be healthy at the time the insurance is taken out.

Optional additional cover

We advise you to supplement the cancellation insurance for incentive and group travel with travel insurance. This will then cover medical expenses and repatriation, and loss or damage to luggage, among other things.

What is cancellation insurance for incentive and group travel?

NoRisk Element

Our cancellation insurance ensures that the organiser of a group trip will be reimbursed if the trip has to be unexpectedly cancelled or rescheduled due to things like strikes, natural disasters, hotel bankruptcy or the death of someone who was supposed to join the trip. If additional costs have to be incurred to ensure that the trip can still go ahead, the customer will also be reimbursed these costs by the insurer.
