Equipment insurance cover

Equipment insurance covers the following:

  • Damage and loss
If your photographic (or other) equipment is damaged or lost due to unforeseen circumstances, you will be reimbursed for the damage by the insurer.
  • Inherent defect
You are also insured in the event of damage caused by an inherent defect. An inherent defect means a defect in or a bad feature of the insured item. The cost of remedying an unexplained defect will not be reimbursed.
  • Renting out
If you rent out your equipment and want it to be insured while it is being rented out, you must tell us. You pay some extra premium in such cases. If the equipment is then damaged or stolen while rented out, you will be reimbursed for the damage.
  • Theft, disappearance and/or loss
If your photographic (or other) equipment is stolen, you will be reimbursed for the damage by the insurer. You are only insured if you did your best to prevent theft or loss of the equipment.
The terms and conditions set out when the insurer thinks you have done your best to prevent theft.
  • Underwater equipment
Damage to underwater equipment is reimbursed by the insurer. However, you must ensure that the equipment is properly secured, and that it is in a suitable waterproof case.
  • Drones
Damage to drones is reimbursed by the insurer under this cover. This includes water damage and theft. The flying of drones is not insured.
Please note: You can also take out a separate drone insurance policy, which does cover the flying of drones. Please contact us for this.
  • Associated parts
If, after loss or irreparable damage to a camera, you are left with associated parts that you cannot use afterwards (such as lenses or tripods, for example), the insurer will reimburse these associated parts.

Equipment insurance for video/photographers

As a videographer or photographer, you likely have a camera setup worth hundreds or even thousands of euros. You don’t want to imagine your camera bag being stolen or anything else happening to your equipment.

No matter how careful you are with your gear, accidents happen. Something unexpected can always occur. That’s why it’s a good idea to take out equipment insurance. If something unfortunate happens, you’ll be reimbursed for the damage.

Add-ons to equipment insurance

The following additional coverages can be added to equipment insurance:

  • Non-owned equipment
If you add this cover to your insurance, rented or borrowed equipment is also included in the cover.
  • Cover when renting out
With this additional cover, the risk you run when you rent out your equipment is insured. This cover is only intended for occasional renting out of equipment.
  • Land war risks
If you take your equipment into war zones, you may choose to take out this additional cover. If your equipment is damaged due to war risks (on land), you will be compensated for such damage.
