If key individuals – such as lead actors or the director – fall ill or are unable to work for any reason, additional costs may arise. For example, certain scenes might need to be postponed until they return. This coverage reimburses those extra costs.
Please note: You must specify which individuals you want covered before filming begins.
Depending on the production budget, you may be required to provide health certificates for the insured individuals.
That depends on the type of production. Films, series and TV productions can take out non-appearance cover for up to 12 people. DICE productions (Documentaries, Industrial, Commercial, Educational) for up to 8 people.
Media production insurance is a smart choice for all types of productions, including:
- A lack of permits.
- Insufficient interest in the production.
- Lack of financial support.
- Infectious diseases.
- Damage caused by motor vehicles.
- Damage resulting from cybercrime or cyber incidents.
- Inherent defect and wear and tear of materials.
- Intent, recklessness and fraud.
A completion bond is a guarantee agreement entered into by a producer for the benefit of the financiers of a film production. By entering into a completion bond, the production company guarantees to financiers that the film will be completed. And if completing the production ultimately turns out not to be possible, the completion bond makes sure the financiers get their money back.
